Vivarium Colivers in Valencia

Vivarium’s Community

Our mission is to create the community we need to face what’s next together. By collaborating and sharing our talents and resources, we can create a living experience that is more fulfilling, meaningful, and enjoyable for all.

Who makes our community 👉

We have welcomed people at a moment of change that realized their new path here, entrepreneurs that decided to start their company in Valencia, freelancers that came to explore the city and connected with new clients, creatives that found new inspiration for their art, corporate rebels that wrote their first book in the house, programmers driven to make an impact, and many other amazing human beings.

Here you will find people like you who are not like you, all of them wanting to connect meaningfully with others, grow together, and leave a mark.

By joining Vivarium, you will be part of this growing tribe and have access to our extended network, where you can reach out to most of the people who have ever stayed in the house.

Vivarium Coliving Community

Our operating system:

Co-creation

Rather than a designed or engineered product, we understand the community as a seed to be planted and nurtured.

When you join Vivarium, you are invited to take an active role and have the opportunity to directly impact the community's direction and the way everything works.

This doesn't mean that everything is left to chance. After some trial and error, we have defined a simple framework that, while being very flexible, gives us some common ground to continue evolving the community together.

OUR FRAMEWORK

✔ Governance: Rules, roles & decisions

✔ Outcomes of the community

✔ Rituals & moments to share

✔ Values & principles

 Values & Principles

  • We understand that our community will never be perfect for every member, but we strive to make it ideal for all with our actions. To the best of our ability, we look for the common good while caring for our individual needs, which means that when trying to fulfill our purposes, we also consider those of others.

  • When we expect something from others or the community, it is always because we are giving/doing something for others or the community first. Although we don't necessarily expect something in return when we give.

  • We coexist with a diverse group of individuals. We approach others in the community (and beyond it) with a genuine interest in getting to know them and understanding their reality. We might disagree on many ideas, but we always maintain respect for the person that holds them.

  • We make a real effort to understand and communicate our needs in the best way we can. We create space for others' needs to be expressed, pursued, and fulfilled through the community. Our actions are based on a humble intention to collaborate with others' well-being and happiness.

  • The community is built by each and every one of us. If something is not working or could work better, we lead the search for a (better) solution and ask for support if needed. We take responsibility for the shared experience in the community and are actively engaged in it.
